ENN collaborates with other agencies to facilitate meetings and training courses to contribute to lesson learning and capacity development of individuals and agencies working in emergency nutrition and food security.
Technical Meeting on Nutrition
Dates: 7th, 8th and 9th October 2014
The ENN will host a 3 day meeting in Oxford, UK, from 7th – 9th October 2014. The aim of the meeting is to facilitate a technical learning and networking meeting on nutrition specific and nutrition sensitive programming in emergencies and high burden contexts; to inform better practice, research priorities and advocacy. ENN is also partnering with NutritionWorks (NW) to develop in-service and pre-service training at the national level, funded by the US Office for Foreign Disaster Assistance, and with the UCL Centre for International Health and Development (CIHD) to provide regional professional training, with support from the OFDA. Open-access distance learning module 'Programming for Nutrition Outcomes'
Developed by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, this course is aimed at increasing the nutrition-related capacity of development professionals. It is a Master’s-level training module exploring the complicated problem of undernutrition, its multi-sectoral causes and potential programmatic solutions. The module contains 17 sessions covering such topics as maternal and child nutrition, nutrition in emergencies, agriculture, climate change, and social protection for nutritional outcomes. It is now freely available to access here.
